What this covers
MasterTheBook publishes original, AI-generated study guides — commentary, quizzes, flashcards, and coaching prompts — for both public-domain and in-copyright books. This page explains how those guides are made and how a rightsholder can raise a concern about a specific one.
How guides are made
Guides are generated from the model's own knowledge of a book — we do not feed the book's full source text into our generator, and we do not host full book text, scans, or a reading substitute. Guides are original commentary in our own words. Short, attributed quotations may appear rarely to anchor analysis. U.S. public-domain titles may quote more freely; in-copyright titles are treated more conservatively, with quotation kept short and attributed when used. An automated check screens guides for overly long or frequent quotation before publication. This description is operational practice, not a legal opinion that any particular use is fair use or otherwise permitted.
Trademark and endorsement
Book titles and author names appear on MasterTheBook only to identify which guide covers which book — the same way a book review or reading-group listing would name a book. This does not imply sponsorship, authorization, or endorsement by the book's author or publisher, and MasterTheBook is not affiliated with either.
Report a concern
If you are an author, publisher, or rightsholder and believe a MasterTheBook guide reproduces protected expression from your work, email legal@masterthebook.com. Include: (1) the book title; (2) the page URL or guide id if known; (3) the specific passage(s) or a clear description of the concern; (4) your name or organization and your authority to act for the rightsholder; and (5) a preferred contact email for follow-up.
Response target
We aim to send a first substantive response within 2 business days of receiving a complete report. That window is our pilot operating target for acknowledgment and next steps — it is not a guarantee of a particular outcome or timeline for a final decision.
Possible outcomes
After review, we may correct the guide, remove specific material, or deprecate the title (take it out of customer-visible and marketing surfaces) when the concern warrants it. We may also conclude that no change is required. We will tell you which path we took.
Scope of this page
This channel is for concerns about MasterTheBook's own platform-generated study guides. It is not a DMCA safe-harbor notice process and does not designate a DMCA agent; those rules address user-uploaded content hosted by a service provider, which is not how MasterTheBook publishes guides.
